
CSI implemented a project under the title “Promoting Birth Registration for Children Development and protection;” a Universal Birth Registration (UBR) program in the seven districts of Lofa County. The Activities including creating of awareness and on spot registration and certification targeting children from Zero to 12 years, radio talks shows, Focus Groups Discussion (FGDs), airing of Jingles in English and local languages; training of Community Health Assistant (CHAs) than gCHVs as community Mobilizers to assist support the project at all community level across the seven districts in the county. About 34000 children were registered and 27000 were certificated. INO/Plan International Liberia funded the project. Duration of the project was 3 years May 2012-Setpember 2016.

Partner in Post Ebola Liberia Recovery Efforts Project entitle “Recovery Together Community Forums”. Strengthening Civil Society Organizations in Post Ebola Liberia Recovery Efforts; A project implemented by the Community Safety Initiative (CSI) in Partnership with the Search For Common Ground (SFCG) with support from USAID through IREX. The implementation activities are being carryout in three communities (Konorsu Tengia Foya District, Zango Town Voinjama District and Barkedu Town, Quardu Gboni District) in Lofa County. The three communities constituted 405 Ebola communities death. The objective of the project was to reduce stigma of Official and Non -official Ebola survivors and their families and the project also provided opportunities to memorialize Ebola victims.

CSI in partner with Plan International Liberia Implemented project entitle “Rebuilding a Culture of Peace Rebuilding Us” the Psychosocial Cross Border Project Support to 1000 severely war affected Boys and Girls and their Caregiver in the domain of Peace Building and Reproductive Health, in the 36 communities in the four districts (Quardu Gboni, Voinjama, Kolahun and Foya along the Liberian Guinean Border) of Lofa County.
In the first domain, Peace Building, the following activities were implemented:
- Facilitate set up and activities of peace clubs in communities of the three countries;
- Build up the skills of the peace clubs and community leaders in conflict resolution and peace promotion;
- Organize cultural and sports activities across the borders to encourage exchange and inclusion of discriminated ethnic groups;
- Organize exchange and reconciliation meetings between former fighters and victims with the support of traditional healers and community leaders;
- Organize community cleansing ceremonies to promote forgiveness and absolution;
Support of traditional ceremonies for reconciliation and peace with communities across the County.
In the Second domain (Reproductive Health) the following activities will be carried out:
- Provide reproductive and other health services to beneficiaries (out of the 1000) in need of support in these domains: this include but is not limited to treatments of gynaecological problems, STI testing, counselling and treatment, family planning, treatments of malaria, typhoid and skin diseases as well as injuries;
- Establish and monitor social support contracts with 300 transactional sex workers to facilitate their reintegration into schools and skill trainings and to prevent early pregnancies abortions and sexually transmitted infections.
- Raise awareness on sexually transmitted diseases and other common health problems through radio debates, training of peer educators in schools, workshops with high risk groups (truck drivers, traders, bike riders and transactional sex workers);
- Advocate for mobile testing, counselling and treatment units;
Organize cross border radio campaigns in vernacular languages to encourage safer sex and to decrease stigma associated with HIV infection.
