One key aspect of empowering women in Liberia is providing comprehensive sexual health education. This education equips girls and young women with the knowledge and skills to make informed decisions about their sexual and reproductive health. It also empowers them to protect themselves from sexual exploitation and abuse.
Sex education is critical in Liberia since individuals nationwide have urged the government to include it in the National Curriculum. It is crucial to inform students about the dangers of early pregnancy, which frequently results in fatalities, and that parents should take a more active role in educating their children about these matters.
Girls & young women are the future of Liberia, and their safety and well-being are paramount. Focusing on their specific needs and concerns is essential to achieve safer communities. Providing them with opportunities for education, skill-building, and leadership development enhances their personal growth and contributes to the community’s overall safety.
Community safety in Liberia is a multifaceted challenge, encompassing issues such as crime, violence, and inadequate infrastructure. To address these issues, the Community Safety Initiative (CSI) develops strategies tailored to each community’s unique needs.
Empowering women is a vital component of these strategies, as women often act as change agents in their communities, advocating for policies and initiatives that prioritize safety. By actively involving women in community safety efforts, we tap into a valuable resource for sustainable change.
