How Agriculture Can Help in Our Communities

how-agriculture-can-help-in-our-communities

Without sufficient, nutritious food, people can lose their ability to work and, in extreme situations, their ability to survive. Investments in agriculture and agriculture training have improved the quality of life for billions of people by reducing the prevalence of hunger and poverty.

Moreover, many underprivileged people benefit significantly from agriculture because it helps their economic wellbeing and provides essential jobs and environmental services.

Low-income countries tend to have a higher agricultural workforce because of the lack of machinery and the lower labor cost. Also, as women play a more prominent role in agriculture and food production, they are given a more significant share of responsibility, which contributes to improved gender equality and strengthens women’s rights.

However, Liberian farmers and food production systems are already suffering from the effects of flooding caused by last year’s torrential rainstorms.

Agriculture in Liberia is also hampered by several factors, including a lack of high-quality, low-priced farm inputs, a lack of readily available sources of credit, and more.

Therefore, promoting better community safety in Liberia and better agricultural opportunities for the citizens is essential. That’s why the Community Safety Initiative (CSI) is here to help the Liberian communities.

Our community organization in Monrovia, Liberia, strives to promote long-term community changes and help fight for people’s rights and the unique needs of different affected communities and groups.
