One of the ways by which we affect long-term change as a community organization in Monrovia, Liberia is through various capacity-building initiatives. We at the Community Safety Initiative (CSI) strive to engage our local communities. We encourage volunteers to spearhead our initiatives at the grassroots levels of their communities through meetings, workshops, and other events.
Then, we build partnerships with businesses, government organizations, and non-government organizations, to improve access to basics like clean water, electricity, and healthcare in these communities. Helping people gain access to sustainable work through education and skills training programs is another thing we focus on. Community safety in Liberia is also important to us.
By providing people with a civil society in which they are able to grow and flourish, we enable all persons, including women, children, and the disabled to gain access to opportunities to live their lives to the fullest. As people’s lives improve, so does their capacity to give back to their communities and pay it forward. Thus, a cycle of hope and help abounds.
